A public information video series has been awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ Award in the ‘Best piece of creative work’ category at Network Rail’s internal awards, The OSCARS (Outstanding Communications Annual Recognition Scheme).
The promotional videos were commissioned by Network Rail to raise awareness of the infrastructure group’s electrification of key railway routes across the country, and were produced by creative computer generated imagery (CGI) company DW Studio, based in South Wales.
DW Studio worked closely with Network Rail’s communication team to ensure all aspects of the processes associated with the electrification, were communicated accurately and effectively.
With over 5 million people travelling on the railway every day, Network Rail will be electrifying routes across the country. This will mean that quieter, cleaner and faster trains can run across the network.
In preparation for the electrification of the railway, the videos detail the necessity for vegetation management, the importance of safety to all during the transition and informing line side neighbours on the work that will take place.
Sarah Jones, Communications Manager for Network Rail, commented “the video has really helped us convey important information to our local communities. DW Studio’s expertise helped to communicate our messages succinctly and creatively, whilst capturing the viewers’ imagination.”
