South Wales' fastest growing businesses attended the 15th anniversary Caerphilly Business Forum Awards ceremony this week, held at Bryn Meadows in Ystrad Mynach.
The annual awards ceremony celebrating up and coming SMEs and business leaders from the ambitious area, was hosted by BBC Wales TV Presenter Jamie Owen.
Following being successfully shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, sponsored by Caerphilly County Borough Council, David Wiffen, owner of DW Studio claimed the accolade amongst tough commercial competition.
The award reflected DW Studio's ability to produce work of exemplary standards. The creative computer generated imagery (CGI) visualisation company delivers show-stopping creative work for leading UK and global clients such as Dyson, Blohm+Voss, Network Rail, Marine Max Yachts, Viking Yachts, Eidsgaard Design and many more.
David commented “The business has set its roots in Caerphilly and received great support from Welsh ICE from the very beginning. Over the next few years we’ll be looking to grow the company sensibly and sustainably. Winning the award tonight will give us a huge boost for the future.”
The creative CGI business is based at the vibrant Welsh ICE (Innovative Centre for Enterprise), where prestigious client wins has rapidly helped grow the business in size in a very short space of time.
DW Studio joins other ICE members who won awards on the night, including Chief of Operations, Mandy Weston winning the Women in Business award, along with Mike Palmer-Day of Service Tracker who won the Innovation award.
Chairman of Caerphilly Business Forum Denise Lovering said: “Caerphilly is a great place to do business. From industrial flagship businesses that Caerphilly’s roots are based upon, to the start-ups and SMEs that are nurtured at hubs like Welsh ICE, the borough is thriving with exciting business prospects.
