This phase sets the foundation for success, as it allows us to gather essential information, understand the client's vision, and establish clear objectives. By carefully listening and collaborating during the briefing process, we ensure that our creative solutions are perfectly aligned with our client's goals, paving the way for impactful and effective results.
02. Cost Estimate and Scheduling
The initial briefing also plays a crucial role in forming our cost estimate and full project breakdown. By delving into the project’s specifics, we can accurately assess the resources required, outline key deliverables, and provide a transparent budget. This comprehensive approach includes a detailed production schedule, ensuring that each phase of the project is meticulously planned and executed on time. Through this thorough and organized process, DW Studio guarantees a seamless and efficient workflow, delivering high-quality outcomes that exceed our clients' expectations.
03. Asset Collection / CAD Prep
To begin production, DW Studio collaborates closely with the client to gather necessary resources, references, and assets. We're comfortable engaging directly with engineers to obtain 3D CAD models, CMF (Color, Material, Finish) documents, and any other relevant materials. Alternatively, if a CAD model is not available, our in-house team can 3d model from reference materials. Additionally, we work diligently within existing corporate guidelines to ensure that our projects integrate seamlessly into both new and existing house styles. This attention to detail guarantees that our creative solutions not only meet but also enhance the established brand identity.
04. Research and Idea Generation
We take great pride in our research, mood board creation, and idea-generation processes. Before shortlisting our ideas, we meticulously develop a range of proposals, ensuring each concept is thoroughly explored and refined. These proposals are then presented to the client via video call or in person, allowing for collaborative discussion and feedback. This approach ensures that our final solutions are not only creative and innovative but also perfectly aligned with the client's vision and objectives.
05. Storyboard
We meticulously storyboard all video projects to ensure each scene is clearly represented and executed as envisioned. By planning all shots in advance, we minimise surprises and maintain a smooth production process. Our detailed storyboards keep the client informed and involved throughout, fostering transparency and collaboration. The storyboard forms the backbone of the shot list and overall story, serving as a vital reference throughout the subsequent production stages. This thorough planning guarantees that our final video products are cohesive, engaging, and aligned with the client's goals.
06. Animatic Edit
An animatic edit takes the storyboard slides and transforms them into a timed sequence, creating an easily editable video that begins to shape the pace and feeling of the final production. This process helps to sense-check the storyboard, ensuring the narrative flow and visual timing are on point. It's also a crucial moment to start considering music and voice-over choices, as the animatic provides a preliminary view of how these elements will integrate with the visuals. By refining the story and pacing at this stage, we ensure a more efficient and cohesive production process, ultimately leading to a polished and compelling final video.
07. Wireframe / Pre-Viz Edit
The wireframe edit is where the video truly takes shape and is brought to three-dimensional life. During this phase, lighting and texturing are kept visually simple and quick to output, allowing the DW team to easily develop and refine camera and scene animation. As with all previous stages, the wireframe edit is shared with the client, along with style frames, to gather feedback and confirm the all-important picture lock. This collaborative review ensures that the project aligns with the client's vision before moving on to the final rendering and post-production stages, where the video is polished to perfection.
08. Style frames
Often combined with the wireframe stage, style frames of key moments are developed into final proposed visuals, complete with detailed lighting and texturing. This crucial step allows the client to visualize how the wireframe will evolve into the final treatment. By presenting these refined visuals alongside the wireframe edit, we provide the client with a clear understanding of the project’s direction and aesthetics before proceeding to the final rendering. This approach not only streamlines the production process but also ensures a vital approval stage, securing client approval before we embark on the final rendering and post-production phases.
09. Rendering, Post and The Final Treatment
With the wireframe and style frames approved, we move to the final 3D rendering stages. Scenes are rendered in high resolution with precise quality settings and essential post-production passes to enhance detail and depth. Each shot is then composited, retouched, and colour-corrected for visual consistency. Additional visual effects are added to boost impact, and final sound design and music are integrated to create a cohesive and engaging experience. This thorough process ensures a powerful and effective final result.
10. File Supply and Archiving
With the final treatment approved, we move to versioning and final file delivery, including regional language adaptations, subtitling, colorway/SKU variations, cut-down edits, and social crop variations, among others. For video projects, we provide a master video file for further edits and formatting needs, alongside an optimized compressed version for immediate marketing use. For static imagery projects, we deliver images in a layered Photoshop format and provide both full-resolution and compressed flattened output files. Images are cut out with layer masks and ready for the next marketing phase. Once all files are securely delivered, we archive and store them safely for future updates or revisions.
