Network Rail / Derby Resignalling
Network Rail directly approached DW Studio to create an in-depth CGI video to communicate the upcoming £200 million re-signalling of Derby Station. The brief was to design an engaging but informative video that detailed the 79 days of activity, along with the benefits to those living in the area and using Derby station services. The video had to inform people of the project scale, the key milestones and resulting train disruptions, whilst giving stakeholders an update on project information. DW Studio developed a video structure and format that allowed Network Rail's construction work to be showcased across varying locations, across different timescales. These bite-sized scenes helped to keep the five minute video engaging and hold the attention of those viewing the video. The entire existing Derby station and future alterations were modelled in-house using 2d plans. A bespoke user-interface style calendar system was designed in-house to communicate a magnitude of information, dates and processes required to deliver the Derby Re-signalling programme.
